Week 14 is in the books and although last nights game didn’t turn out like I thought it would my picks were fantastic overall.    I accurately predicted the  the Saints, Eagles, Texans, Chargers, Packers, Jets, Vikings, Colts, Ravens, Dolphins, and even picked Carolina to cover against New England.  Not too shabby.   The games I missed were Pittsburgh (who on earth didnt?), I thought the Rams could cover and of course, Kansas City’s home loss to Buffalo which still baffles me.  What a joke!

Week 15 is the beginning of playoffs for lots of Yahoo Fantasy Football leagues.  My 3 teams finished 1st, 2nd, and 2nd and there are no byes so it’s going to be a busy week.  I do intend on making some changes in the Defense and Kicking games but I’m going to stay with the players that got me this far.  I’ve consistently played Cassell over Orton to no avail but I’m not changing.  The Chiefs play Cleveland and Matt has to have  a big game after this weeks 4 interception performance.

Check back this week for fantasy playoff commentary!

I missed the draft this year in all 3 of my league’s so I ended up with autodraft teams.  With dedication and persistence I have been able to turn all 3 teams into winners.  My strategy is simple:  HIT THE WAIVER WIRE EARLY AND OFTEN.  You could argue that the autodraft team gave me better odds but that would mean everybody else is a bunch of idiots.  No matter how good you are doing in the first 5 weeks of the season you’ve got to monitor every available player and make your team better even if you’re just upgrading your bench.  MATCHUPS aren’t everything but they do count for a lot.  I never make my sit/start decisions based on weekly Matchups alone.  Streaks and statistics are meant to be broken and challenged in every way.  Never say never in the NFL.  Nobody gave Kansas City a shot last week besides myself and about a million Chiefs fans but the writing has been on the wall for weeks.  True?  Very.  Here are my teams please let me know what you think.

MASTERMINDS: (7-4)  Currently in a 4 way tie for first place but I’m in 4th on the overall points.  This league is still wide open with 3 weeks until playoffs there are 8 teams all within 2 games out.  I started out losing the first 2 games but I’ve battled back for a share of the lead.   I have trouble deciding who to sit/start on this team because  of depth at QB and RB.  Don’t be jealous.

Here is my team, this weeks starters noted by (x).

A. Rodgers (X), B. Favre, M. Ryan

Mike Sims-Walker(x), Andre Johnson(x), Steve Smith NYG(x), Sidney Rice, Mike Wallace

Rashard Mendenhall(x), Jamaal Charles (x), Pierre Thomas, Cedric Benson

TE: Dallas Clark (x) no need for anyone else really

K: Ryan Succop (x) rookie from the Chiefs who is a stud

DEF: New Orleans

I’m not sure that team has a weakness.

Week 10 NFL Predictions – Part 2 of 2

Posted in Uncategorized on November 12, 2009 by jasonrjung

Atlanta (-1.5) at Carolina, 43.5.  I think this is going to be a great game.  Look for the 1-2 punch of Williams and Stewart to run for close to 200 yards, AGAIN.  The combo will hit paydirt at least twice this week maybe more.  Atlanta’s Matt Ryan starting to look less impressive, especially on the road.  His number one target Rodney White is nursing a sore knee.  Carolina wins 28 -21, take the over.

Tampa Bay at Miami (-10), 43.  Tampa Bay is fresh off it’s first win of the season and the first start for Rookie QB Josh Freeman.  The cinderella story ends before it begins.  I like the fins to win it and I see the Bucs defense getting rocked by the wildcat.  Miami bounces back from last weeks loss for a 27-10 win.

Kansas City at Oakland (-2), 36.5, THE FUTILITY BOWL is what they’re calling it.  I take offense, but who cares?  Anyway, KC’s offense will finally get on track this week.  I like the new RB combo of Kolby Smith and Jamaal Charles to run all over the silver and black hack-attack.  Kansas City wins big 42 – 3.  Honestly, I think we’ll see scoring from both sides.  Bet the over.

Seattle at Arizona(-8.5), 47, Hasselbeck is overrated and nursing a bruised shoulder I think.  Stay away from him in your fantasy leagues he’s gonna tank sooner or later.  I like Arizona with or without Boldin, they don’t need him in this one.  All Arizona all day.  27-6.

Philadelphia at San Diego (-2), 47.  Philly is my bread and butter.  Their defense has propelled me to great heights this year but they’re starting to show signs of breaking.  Weakness at LB position makes them vulnerable against the Chargers offense.  McNabb has had a couple of poor performances I’m looking for him to bounce back.  This will be one of the best games this week.  If Westbrook plays w/ at least 15 touches the Eagles will win.  He’s the key.  Eagles 27, Chargers 20

Dallas (-3) at Green Bay, 47.5, Dallas is favored in Green Bay.  Perfect time for an implosion but I don’t see it happening this week.  I like the cowgirls to win a real sloppy game 24-14.

New England at Indianapolis (-3) , 50.  I like the Patriots on this one.  Without Bob Sanders the Indy D is questionable.  Game of the week for sure.  I’d like to see as little scoring as possible as I’m facing Tom Brady in my fantasy league.  Patriots win 34-27.

Baltimore (-10.5) at Cleveland, 40.5.  Is there any doubt that Cleveland is horrible and has no hope for the immediate future?  Not in my mind.  I see the Ravens winning big whether or not the Browns fans are sitting in their seats.  You know what I’m talking about.  Browns lose 38-10 on Monday Night Football.

WEEK 10 NFL Predictions-Part 1 of 2

I’m going to try and schedule different blog features throughout the week.  Thursday will be “Prediction Day”.  Here’s the skinny on Week 10 – you can thank me later.

*Line courtesy of

Chicago At SF (-3.5), 43.5.   I’m taking San Francisco’s Defense to hold the Bears to 2 Touchdowns or less.  I don’t think this is the week for Crabtree to get his first touchdown either.  I like San Francisco , under.  Final Score 24-13

Jacksonville AT NY Jets (-6.5), 40.  I like the Jets at Home by a touchdown or more.  Also, I think the Jaguars score a few points too.  Take the over.  Final score 31-21, Jets.

Denver (-3.5) at Washington, (37).  I see this as a low scoring affair so I’m tempted to bet the under.  Denver is a lock to win no matter what the score is.  Look for Orton to bounce back and have a nice day.  24-10 Broncos.

Cincinnati at Pittsburgh(-7), 41.5.  This may be the best game of the week.  I think this one ends much closer than 7 points, however.  Pittsburgh wins a thriller 24-21.  Stay away from the over/under.

Buffalo at Tennessee (-6.5), 41,  WHO CARES ABOUT THIS GAME??  Not me, but look for Tennessee to roll at home.  I don’t like the over/under on this game but I take Tennesse to win 31-10.

Detroit at Minnesota (-17), 47.   I think we’ll see the third string Vikings in the Fourth quarter maybe earlier.  That being said I like the Vikes by 3 touchdowns, under!   Final score 31-3.

New Orleans (-13.5) at St. Louis, 50.  Saints by at least 3 touchdowns, but the starters shouldn’t play the 4th quarter.  The over/under is right on – too close to say.  Final score 37-10.

Kansas City Running Back situation

Jamaal Charles was a hot pickup last week but don’t go grabbing him up just yet.  Coach Todd Haley commented that he wouldn’t be surprised if RB Kolby Smith ousted Charles for the starting job.  One thing is for certain and that’s RB by committee for the next few games at least.  I would stay away from starting either back in most leagues.

Hello World

In this daily blog I will attempt and succeed at blowing your mind with fantasy sports commentary, insight and analysis.  Also, you will find humorous tid-bits taken from my daily life.  I’m a dedicated father of 3 (with one on the way), husband, and sports fanatic.   Unlike most of the guys who write a fantasy column I will tell you that I’m a NEVER SAY DIE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS FAN!  I also like the St. Louis Cardinals and Los Angeles Dodgers.  I have 3 fantasy football teams this year in 1st, 1st, and 3rd place thank you very much.  Details coming soon……………
